A beautiful example of Chokin (彫金), the ancient Japanese art of metal engraving originally used to adorn the armour and weapons of Samurai warriors. This collector's display plate features a hand-detailed geisha in full ceremonial kimono set against the iconic backdrop of a Japanese castle framed by cherry blossoms in full bloom — a classic celebration of Haru (春 · Spring).
The central medallion is finished in 24KT gold, framed by a deep cobalt lacquered border with a gilded "JAPAN" repeating rim. A small Chokin Art plaque adorns the front, with full provenance text on the reverse.
